"Even with money in hand, it has been incredibly difficult to connect Atlanta and New York with two dedicated broadcast-quality T1 lines. Requiring the combined efforts of three major telecomm companies working together, the job has taken four times longer than expected. At the last moment Verizon refused to make the final connection to Intelsat address in New York. After three weeks, MCI finally agreed to make the connections and the signal is within days of launching. I gain great courage at seeing so many unexpected startup obstacles in a project because I know that they are usually indicators of great future success. I met with the Romanian Union administrators in St. Louis, and will soon meet with them again in Bucharest to lay plans to maximize the network’s impact. The satellite being used is the Intelsat 1002 on Ku band (small dish), which is the same where all the other Romanian channels are on.
